Ketunkanto Adventures takes you on an adventure on the river routes and lakes of Salla’s wilderness. We offer guided canoe trips of various lengths from the beginning of June to the end of September.
Paddling brings you close to the nature of the north, experiencing it with all your senses; you can feel the soothing movement of the water beneath you, listen to the unbroken silence of the nature, smell the delicate fragrance of the marsh peach or admire the midnight sun or a landscape filled with autumn colours. Moving at water level gives you an interesting and unique perspective on the surrounding nature, while an almost silent canoe or kayak allows you to get close to a wide variety of animals.
For us, nature is home. A place we cherish and from which we draw our strength. Welcome to share this feeling with us. Our strong local knowledge and our people-oriented approach, combined with the opportunities nature offers, guarantee you unforgettable experiences on Salla’s waters.
We also offer rental services of paddling equipment, canoes and kayaks and a light trailer for transportation. Ask for more info!
I’m from the village of Saija in Northern Salla. Ever since I was a little boy, I have accompanied my father on fishing and berry picking trips in the area. Over the years, I have become very familiar with these streams, and there are many stories to tell about them and the nature around them. I have worked for many years as an entrepreneur and also as a guide in the tourism industry. In my spare time I go fishing and I’m an active member in the voluntary fire and rescue division of Salla. It is a pleasure for me to introduce you to these landscapes. Welcome to our excursions!
I’m from Kemijärvi, and my roots are deep in Eastern Lapland. I have lived most of my adult life elsewhere, to find out that Salla and it’s unique nature are places where it is good to breathe and live.
I’m a nature and canoeing instructor and in my spare time I like to go mountain biking. I used to work as an entrepreneur in the restaurant business and now I’m happy that we can offer you local, clean and delicious food in the middle of nature. See you on the waters!
